The PhD-student devises a practice proposal to obtain project funding. The proposal is viewed by the Steering Committee and constructive feedback is provided
Each PhD-student is expected to participate in ≥ 3 different general training courses (1 – 2 days each) provided by the PIs or outside experts focussing on aspects of scientific life that go beyond the mere technical execution of experiments. Relevant topical courses are regularly offered by InGrA, IPB and UFZ and will additionally be organized by the RTG.
The meeting “Science meets Companies” is organized biannually by the Studentische Förderinitiative (SFI) on the MLU Weinberg-Campus. This meeting is a great opportunity for PhD-students to identify potential employers and establish contacts for the next steps in their scientific careers.
The students are encouraged to organize outreach activities (e.g., during the “Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften”) and to participate in the organization of the international symposium, the workshops, and the social events.
